The Monte-Carlo Opera House was designed and created by Charles Garnier in 1878 and inaugurated in 1879.
The vaulted ceiling is adorned with four painted canvas panels measuring 15 metres by 6 metres :
"Music"by Gustave Boulanger is situated above the stage, while"Comedy"by Frédéric Lix is on the side facing the sea.
"Dance"byGeorges Clairin,on the left side of the room,
portray sall kinds of dancing, and depicts some most primitive and unusual costumes.
"Song and Eloquence,"above the Prince's box, expresses the painter François Feyen Perrin's poetic and melancholic
character.
